IRELAND.
"TENANT RIGHT."—"The teachings of the Tenant League" says a Westmeath paper "have been practically carried out in this neighbourhood, on the property of Lord Kilmaine. Last March a family named Walsh, holding six acres of land at Monksland, was ejected for non-payment of rent, being two years in arrear. The farm was subsequently let at the same rent to a farmer named Hynes, who no sooner took possession than he became subject to every species of annoyance from the Walshes. As soon as his crops of flax and potatoes appeared above ground they were pulled up and destroyed. About a month since the house attached to the farm was burned to the ground, and since then over an acre of oats have been cut and carried away by the same parties.—This has taken place close to the residence of a magistrate of the county".
