Bridgnorth Beacon
Our Title
We hope our readers will congratulate us on our change of Title, (we had at first called our Paper the Bridgnorth Advertiser,) and not be the less willing to send us their advertisements on that account. The change has been made for the sake of euphony, and from no idea of aspiring to be a Standard or Guardian of the Town. We confess we rather pride ourselves on the thought of calling our paper The Beacon, the word has a good old national unpartisanlike sound. But if the name will suggest the meaning, it may be observed in defence that there are little Beacons as well as large Beacons, useless Beacons, as well as useful ones, Beacons founded on sand, as well as Beacons with enduring rock for their foundation. Verbum Sat.
