Ecclesiastical Information:
Rumour speaks of the retirement of Lord J. G. Beresford from the Primacy of the Irish Church, and of the elevation of the Bishop of London to that see. Such a thing is hardly consistent with Dr. Blomfield’s recently manifested want of sympathy with the Irish Clergy.
North Wales is to have a theological college on a similar plan to the one already in existence in South Wales.
It is proposed to raise a monument to Richard Baxter, in Kidderminster, of which place he was sometime Vicar. The place has received the approbation of the Primate and the Bishop of Manchester.
